Two-story wooden cat house, 23.6 × 22.8 × 29.5 in (60 × 58 × 75 cm), built from solid cedar wood with a water-based coating: yellow-toned natural planks on a black frame.
Cats that spend their days on the porch or in the yard need a sheltered place to rest and a high spot to watch from. A cardboard box by the door goes soggy after the first rain.
This house gives them both under one roof: a closed room below, an open balcony above, and steps between the two.
The lower room measures 20.5 × 20.5 in (52 × 52 cm) inside, with space for bedding in colder months. Cats come and go through a clear strip doorway, about 8.3 × 9.1 in (21 × 23 cm), on the front, and a side escape door gives them another way out. Two jump boards on the side lead up to the balcony, where slatted railings run along the front and the side under an overhanging, sloped roof that lets rain run off.
Short feet keep the floor off the ground, and the floor tray pulls out so you can sweep or wash it. A DIY scratching mat comes with the house, and it works on a porch, a patio or indoors, for cats or a small dog.

Upstairs, the open balcony sits under the overhanging roof, behind a slatted railing 5.9 in (15 cm) high: a shaded spot to stretch out and watch the yard. Two jump boards on the side, of 6 in and 5.3 in (15 and 13.5 cm), link the two floors.
